How PupDuty handles your information.
Website tools
The free potty log stores its entries in this browser profile when browser storage is available. Entries include a date, time, event, accident type and optional note. They are not sent to the PupDuty app or shared with a care team by this tool. Other people using the same browser profile may be able to read them.
You can delete entries or clear the log. Clearing browser site data can also remove saved entries. If storage cannot be read or written, the tool keeps changes only on the current page and shows a notice. Closing or reloading then loses those unsaved changes.
The schedule keeps your selected times only while the page is open; it is not saved across reloads. The homepage demo also resets on reload. Printing uses your browser’s print dialog. These browser controls do not manage app accounts, app records or subscriptions.
About the app policy
PupDuty is a shared journal for the people who look after one or more puppies together. This page explains what the app stores, where it goes, and how you delete it. Entries include who logged them. We never sell or share your entries for advertising.
Using PupDuty without an account
You can start logging without signing in. Everything you enter then (your name, your puppy's name, birth date, optional photo and up to ten entries) is stored locally on your iPhone. Purchasing access uses Apple and RevenueCat before sign-in. After purchase, sign in with Apple or Google to link access and add those entries to your own care team. Signing in sends account information to our service. Your local entries are not added to a care team you join by invitation. Deleting the app deletes the local data.
RevenueCat may exchange purchase and service data before you sign in, as described below. PupDuty does not send first-run activity, your local profile or your local journal as analytics. New Owners purchase before signing in with Apple or Google. Restore requires signing in to your PupDuty account first.
What we store when you sign in

Who sees your care team's data
Your care team can see its shared journal and profiles. The Owner shares invitation links and can remove Members at any time. Uploaded photo files are an exception: anyone with a photo URL can view that file, including someone outside the care team. The rest of your journal and membership data remains access-controlled. Our service providers process data as needed to operate the service, as described below. We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising. PupDuty does not use your journal entries or photos to train models.
Choosing to share a photo
Adding a photo to a synced puppy profile uploads it to our photo service. Anyone with the resulting file URL can view the processed photo. Photos kept in a local journal are uploaded when that journal joins your household.
The original upload is kept in private server storage while we check it, convert it to JPEG and remove embedded metadata. Only the processed JPEG is published on UploadThing. Removing metadata does not hide anything visible in the picture.
Service providers
- Apple handles Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases.
- RevenueCat provides purchase screens, purchase management and purchase analytics, and helps verify Annual and Lifetime access. Before sign-in, it may process an SDK-generated or previously saved user identifier, purchase history and receipt-derived purchase status, App Store region, locale, and app, device and SDK information needed for its service. After sign-in, we send your random PupDuty account identifier, linking purchase information to your account. We do not send RevenueCat your name, email, care-team data, puppy or journal content, or advertising identifiers.
- Google handles Google sign-in and supplies the account information needed to authenticate you. Its sign-in software may collect a user identifier to remember the account permissions you approved, and an IP address to help prevent fraud, including estimating the device’s general location. See Google’s sign-in data disclosure.
- UploadThing stores the processed JPEG photos at public URLs. Anyone with a file URL can view the photo. Only the Owner can add, replace or remove photos in PupDuty; this does not make the published file URL private.
- Hetzner Online GmbH hosts our servers and database in the European Union.
How long we keep data
We keep care-team data while the care team exists. If you are the Owner, deleting your account or care team in Settings removes that care team from the active service. Existing backups may still contain earlier copies of deleted data; we do not promise a fixed backup-deletion period here. Contact us for information about a deletion request. If you are a Member, leaving or deleting your account does not delete the care team's shared journal; the local shared data is removed from your device.
Removing or replacing a photo immediately blocks further access to it through PupDuty. Its public URL may remain readable until UploadThing finishes removing the file. We cannot revoke copies that someone has already downloaded.
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage that in your Apple account settings. Creating a new account does not recover a deleted care team or reset App Store trial eligibility. Restoring a purchase does not restore deleted journal data.
Your choices
- Export your journal as CSV or PDF at any time (Owner).
- Leave a care team, or as Owner remove people or delete the care team.
- Delete your account in Settings.
- Turn local reminders off in Settings or in iOS notification settings. Reminders are scheduled on your device; shared data refreshes when you open the app and have a network connection.
- Email us to access, correct or delete your data.
Children
PupDuty is for adults who look after a puppy. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Not medical or training advice
The next potty break estimate is calculated from your own entries. It is an estimate, not a promise, and it is not veterinary, medical or training advice.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
